Week 7 answers to “WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FLOWER AND CONCENTRATE?“:
Flower is dried herb marijuana, straight from the plant. Concentrates are chemically processed from extracted THC resin using a solvent such as butane. Concentrates basically suck all the THC out of the plant and toss the rest in the trash. In terms of potency, comparing the two is like comparing wine and Everclear. The intoxicant is the chemical delta 9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Like wine, flower has a lower percentage of the intoxicating compound. However, anything over 10% is considered high potency, and considering today’s weed averages around 20% THC and can be as high as 30-40%, it’s still highly potent.
