This presentation provides an overview of youth suicide prevention strategies in Colorado. Lena Heilmann, the Suicide Prevention Strategies Manager with the Colorado Office of Suicide Prevention at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, will address risk and protective factors related to youth suicide; discuss current data and trends related to youth suicide; and share strategies for youth suicide prevention.

Speaker Bio
Lena Heilmann, PhD, MNM, is the Suicide Prevention Strategies Manager with the Colorado Office of Suicide Prevention at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE). Lena is a sibling suicide loss survivor; she lost her sister Danielle to suicide in 2012. Prior to losing her sister, Lena was in academia and taught as a professor. Now Lena works and volunteers in suicide prevention to honor her sister.
