Dearest Johnny’s Ambassadors,
I hope this letter finds you happy and well! John and I are so grateful for your active participation and support of Johnny’s Ambassadors Youth THC Prevention. Your gifts have helped us save countless youth from the harms of THC. It’s that time of year again when we humbly ask for your financial support for next year.
Each year, we hold our annual fundraiser starting in August and ending in September, which is National Suicide Prevention Month. It’s a time to remember Johnny’s life and the work he continues to do on this earth through his warning to me before he died, “Marijuana ruined my mind and my life.”
While I personally give over 200 school assemblies and talks each year and reach 100,000+ students, we must continue to evolve and reach millions more teens and parents through other avenues that do NOT involve me. This growth has been my focus this year, and it’s been quite successful. Here are some of the programs your gifts have supported and the cost:
- Online THC Education for Youth. Our self-paced suspension alternative program for teens who get caught using THC at school is used by thousands of students every year. Provide five students with access to our online THC training: $50
- TAG (Teen Ambassadors Groups) TEAMS. We have 52 teen teams across the country teaching OTHER teens about the harms of THC. Provide a stipend for an adult sponsor to teach their students our curriculum to train other teens: $250
- Certified Johnny’s Ambassadors Trainers. We now have 150+ people trained in the Johnny’s Ambassadors Youth THC Prevention curriculum, who are teaching our materials all over the U.S. Provide a health teacher, school resources officer, nurse, or counselor with Youth THC Prevention training: $300
- Parent Partners. We now have 27 parent mentors to help an average of 20 new members each week whose children have Cannabis-Induced Psychosis. This is but one of many educational and support programs Johnny’s Ambassadors offers. Provide one month of Laura’s base salary to run programs like this: $1250/month.
- Streaming Education Campaign. Our new streaming ads target parents of teens 13-17 in three states where marijuana is on the ballot this fall (SD, NE, FL), encouraging them to read our new book. In a single month, over 10,000 people “touch” our ad (cursor on a computer or fingertip on mobile). That is an engagement rate of 5.13%, which translates into an average of 4.2 seconds each person spent with the ad. The industry average is under one second (microseconds). Provide one month of streaming advertising: $3,300
- Social Media TEEN PR Campaign. Our new Tik Tok and Instagram influencer PR campaign hires five different student creators to develop videos each month. Compared to JA’s performance averages prior to the program, the videos have resulted in a 261.93% increase in average impressions and a 195.17% increase in average engagements per post on Instagram. Provide one month of our social media influencer campaign: $4,800/month
- Youth THC Prevention Magazines. We ship thousands of copies of our middle and high school magazines to be used in health, PE, and drug education classes around the U.S. Provide a print run of 10,000 magazines: $5,000
- Radio PSA Campaign. Johnny’s Ambassadors “Just Say KNOW®” radio campaign airs in the markets of Philadelphia, Detroit, Orlando, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Grand Rapids, Richmond, Tucson, Columbia, Springfield, New York, Los Angeles, Houston, Washington, DC, Seattle, Minneapolis, and many others. Cumulative results: 3,929 airings, 16,075,400 impressions and $360,400 in donated media value. Provide one year of the radio PSA campaign: $10,000/year
- Television PSA Campaign. Our “Just Say Know®” TV PSA airs in the markets of Atlanta, Denver, Portland, Salt Lake City, San Antonio, Jacksonville, Tucson, and others. National and regional network coverage takes place on FOX Business and Bally Sports Network stations. Additionally, local station support is in the Top 50 media markets as well as other markets throughout the country. As of July, the campaign has now aired on 273 stations across 178 media markets. Cumulative results: 26,378 airings, 68,986,770 impressions and $5,952,362 in donated media value. Provide one year of the television PSA campaign: $25,000/year
- Other expenses in need of sponsorship (these are examples, not designated):
- Webinar for a local community coalition: $1,250
- Travel expenses for John and Laura: $1,500
- Exhibition fee for Johnny’s Ambassadors booth at Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America $4,000 2x/year
- School assembly: $5,000 for one, $6,500 for two, and $7,500 for three in one day
- Advertising in the National Association of Secondary School Principals print and digital magazines: $10,000/year
As you can see, these programs aren’t inexpensive to run, and it’s critically important we keep our messages in front of millions and millions of teens and parents we otherwise wouldn’t be able to reach. Will you please help by sponsoring one of these line items? Your generous gift helps us continue to educate parents, teens, and communities about the dangers of today’s potent THC products (marijuana, dabs, vapes, edibles) on adolescent brain development, psychosis, and suicide. All donations are 100% tax deductible to Johnny’s Ambassadors, which is a nonprofit 501(c)3 with EIN 85-0593925.
