Today was our first day back to church, Praise God! Cornerstone Church was open since it’s inside our county lines, so we went there. It was heaven on earth to be able to worship in person! The pastor, Dr. Anthony Pranno, preached on 1 Samuel 17:45 with David’s challenge to Goliath in the name of the Lord to give us encouragement for the “giants” we face in our lives!
David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.”
Doesn’t it make you feel powerful with the Lord in front of you and your challenges, helping you battle your Goliath? What giant do YOU face? Health problems? Depression? Addiction? Grief? COVID-related illness? Relationships? Call on the name of the Lord!
Be encouraged today that God is JEHOVAH SABAOTH, the Lord of the armies of Israel! He is our warrior, fighting in front of His Ambassadors in the wars we are waging.
I am facing down the Goliath of youth substance abuse, mental illness, and suicide. This I believe to be true: God will ensure that Johnny’s death will not be in vain, as HE has sent us out on this God-ordained mission to educate parents and teens about the dangers of today’s high-THC marijuana on the developing adolescent mind.
I am grateful for Johnny’s Ambassadors who have joined us in this mission (war?) to pray, to share, to educate, and to help financially (our next huge project is an online marijuana education curriculum for teens).
