This presentation introduces a London-based Dual Diagnosis Clinic and the specialist support provided to young people experiencing psychosis who continue to use cannabis. It will explore how the clinic works with young people using tailored, evidence-based interventions that address both mental health needs and substance use. A key focus of the presentation is the support offered to carers and families of young people with a diagnosis of psychosis, recognizing the challenges they face and the vital role they play. The presentation will highlight how carers are supported through psychoeducation, collaboration, and ongoing engagement, alongside practical examples of clinical work that demonstrate the importance of supporting both young people and those who care for them.

Speaker Bio

Jodie Lynn is a Senior Dual Diagnosis Practitioner at the Cannabis Clinic for Patients with Psychosis (CCP) within South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. She has over 15 years’ experience working in addictions services across community settings and residential treatment programs.

Jodie specializes in supporting individuals with co‑occurring psychosis and substance use, with a particular focus on the impact of cannabis on mental health. She is deeply passionate about working with young people in London and addressing the growing concerns around cannabis use and related harms. Her work places strong emphasis on collaboration, including working closely with the carers and families of the young people she supports, alongside harm reduction and education.
