Week 3 answers to “What is the difference between THC and CBD?”:
Both Δ-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD) are distinct, complex compounds from a group of over 120 chemicals called cannabinoids derived from marijuana plants. However, despite being cousin compounds, they are very different.
THC is the psychoactive chemical in marijuana —i.e., it’s what makes users high. It’s also addictive, and overuse can cause a variety of health disorders, up to and including psychosis.
Winner is Shannen Davis, Program Manager, Gang Alternatives Inc. (selected by numbers in a hat).
