A recent excellent Wall Street Journal article describes the challenges Johnny’s Ambassadors has seen in schools over the past five years after several hundred assemblies to nearly a half million teens: THC is everywhere, and it’s a mess in our schools. As marijuana becomes more normalized and commercialized, teens are using marijuana at higher rates than ever before. Vapes are now the most used method for ingesting THC, which are much stronger than the marijuana joints of the past. In the 1980s at 2%, an entire joint would contain maybe 5mg of THC. Today, a 1-gram cart at 80% THC contains 800mg. A dab of wax can be 250mg, and a single gummy can contain 50mg in a 1000mg box of 20. It’s no wonder our teens are addicted, and mental illnesses such as anxiety, depression, psychosis, and bipolar are rampant.
