For now I prefer to remain anonymous but I want to let you know this happens to adults now too. When I was a teenager I did do marajuana a few times but nothing terrible happened. But as an adult after it was legalized where I am it nearly killed me and caused 5 years of intense suffering even though I was off the thc the whole time. There really need to let people know the distorted thought patterns that start happening. I think I may have recognized what was going on and stoppec early and the recovery would have been much better. I think the vapes are extra dangerous things my illness really ramped up once I started then but all of it is dangerous. I thought it was just as safe as alcohol but it’s not true. At 35 when I switched to vaped THC I went into phychosis about 4 months later. I never had problems with delusions or mania before this. I ended up committed for a month. Luckily my job let me use short term disability. After a month of being released i went into a deep depression with insomnia and anhodenia. I ended up back in the phych ward this time for about 3 months due to suicidal thoughts. They have me ect and antidepressants. I thought I recovered but after release I crashed again but this time just stuck it out. I thought about suicide every day from the crushing insomnia and anxiety. I thought my brain was permanently broken. I did eventually recover but it took 5 years and a ton medication but most of them never worked. The thing that eventually saved me was getting a personal trainer but I know that is not an option for everyone. It seemed to reset me I didn’t think it would be possible to be exercise based on how tired I was but having another person guide me was the key. Also cbti and therapy are important. Mainly I’m just writing to let people know recovery is possible but it’s really a terrible hell to get there. I never knew marajuana could cause such suffering. Also my relationship with my wife will never be the same. I wish I knew this page existed because I felt so alone when this happened. But there is hope.
