Many of you have asked me to let you know if there’s anything you can do. I think there may be! I first want to thank Jane Jenkins Herlong for commissioning this beautiful artwork of Johnny’s “Values I Believe are the Most Important.” This is where the idea began. Johnny wrote about these five values as a class assignment on 8/20/19 at Colorado Technical University:
- Altruism
- Patience
- Conviction
- Enthusiasm
- Gratitude
At his memorial service on December 9, I shared his five values and told a little story about how he exemplified each value and what we can learn from him. Here is the link (I start speaking about 30 minutes in). His own words are posted below, and I will include the electronic file in the comments.
I would love to have several “Johnny’s 5 Values” ambassadors join me in 2020 by PURPOSEFULLY, ACTIVELY practicing these values in your own life and community. You would focus on one of them in some way, for example by volunteering, and then share what happens with me and the rest of the group. Please join Johnny’s Ambassadors on Facebook. I will compile these into a little book to share the examples, quotes, anecdotes, and stories of people who see Johnny’s values manifested in everyday life. In this way, we can all be uplifted by Johnny’s spirit and the amazing experiences that I believe will occur when you DO something you otherwise might not have done.
Please let me know below if you will join! I will treasure these stories so much and know it will be very healing. As Johnny says below, “There is always a silver lining to every misfortune”! Love to all.
